John and I sat down to talk about it all.
John is a well known drummer in a community that has been around since the late 80s, early 90s in Nashville and as such, had a unique view of how the city has changed. Growing up around here, I can resonate with some of his stories, and of course we’ve known each other, and have worked together quite a bit, so we resonate on many other levels as well.
In this episode we cover some of John’s history, how he got to Nashville and some of those experiences playing with folks like Raul Malo, Emmylou Harris, Brazilbilly, Kenny Vaughan and other Nashville greats.
But most importantly, I think, John has created some beautiful music himself. His music is eclectic, wide ranging, a lot like John himself. I feel blessed to have played a small role in the making of those records, and hope to continue to do so. As I say in the end, I really do hope he continues to put out more music, because his is the kind of music I think the world is starved for. Original, fresh, organic, fearless and gritty.
Give it a watch, I hope you enjoy.
