The Computer Debacle

It’s been a while since my last confession, so I’ve got quite a bit to discuss!  We made it through spilled water on the machine, one broken MBox, my OS crashed and I had to reinstall it 3 times which then led to… I was “forced” to totally upgrade my Pro Tools rig.

Long story short, basically means that I’m current now (I don’t even remember the last time that was the case), and I’m free to do some pretty cool new stuff.  Like, mixing remotely, and other benefits that come with Pro Tools 11.   Didn’t think I would like Mavericks, but it’s kicking butt so far!  As long as I’m up and running and my songs keep coming, I’m happy!

What I’ve Been Up To

Writing songs, booking shows, and negotiating what’s going to happen “next” has really taken up the crux of the show lately. I haven’t really had a ton of time to write here, and make updates – but I guess is all for the best!  Hell, the shows have been great, and with all my writing energy pretty much going to music, the songs just keep getting better and better (imagine that)!

Note:  If you’ll notice the papers in the image above ^ .  These are 1) a set list, common stage attire for professionals at any level, 2) lyrics.  Hey, these songs are new, and I just can’t remember all the words!  Songs are kinda bleeding together…  There was one point during the show at the basement when I recall asking Keelie, “What’s the next line?”  Coulda kept it going if we were mid song but since we were still in the intro I figured I would get the lyrics straight.  Oh boy.

What’s Next

Firstly, I need to figure out how I can get all these songs to a studio with a band!  I should be ready to start looking at how to scrounge the funds together in Nov/Dec of this year, but I may need a little help organizing that (ehem*).  I think I maybe, just might need some form of crowd funding to get it going (cough*ehem).  Ha!  Really not sure yet.

As far as what I do know…  Shows, more shows, songs, more songs, and a lot better production all the way around!  It’s only getting better, and I’m only getting out there more!

I can’t wait to show you the new tunes, and I can’t wait to see what happens the rest of this year.  It’s looking really, really good.
